News

We are proud to announce that our paper

Barbieri, L., Savazzi, S., Brambilla, M., & Nicoli, M. "Decentralized federated learning for extended sensing in 6G connected vehicles," Vehicular Communications33, 100396, 2022.

has received the 2024 Best Paper Award from Elsevier’s Vehicular Communications journal.

This recognition highlights the impact of our work on decentralized federated learning for extended sensing in 6G connected vehicles.

Our project entitled "Cyber-Physical Integration of Smart Tyres and V2X for Vehicle Health and Road Monitoring", has received an honorary certificate of appreciation for the 2025 IEEE Communications Society Student Competition, ranked among the best 21 projects among the 148 submitted.
Our former PhD student Bernardo Camajori Tedeschini received the 2025 “Prof. Florian Daniel” PhD thesis award and the 2025 Chorafas Foundation Prize
for his doctoral dissertation “Cooperative Machine Learning Methods in Distributed Systems”.

Camajori Tedeschi was recognized for the relevance of his research to the call’s theme, the high scientific significance in the field of information engineering, and the innovativeness of the techniques and results achieved, as demonstrated by his excellent scientific output.
A new research work has been published in the IEEE Open Journal of Intelligent Tranportation Systems!

Topic: roadside infrastructure for detecting pedestrians and triggering an Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) of a Connected and Automated Vehicle (CAV) via 5G V2X connectivity. Validation inside the campus of Politecnico di Milano.
